Electric In-Screed Underfloor Heating Cable

The Easy Solution for Extensions and Conservatories

In-screed heating cable is ideal for new screed floor construction, such as kitchen extensions and conservatories. Cable should be laid onto insulation board and covered within a minimum of 50mm sand and cement screed.

Floor Coverings

Ideal floor coverings for use with heated screed floors include ceramic, stone, slate, porcelain, marble, limestone and terracotta. These are all good conductors of heat. Wood and carpet coverings can also be used, but they will reduce the available heat output and so should only be used in rooms with low heat loss.

Temperature Control

All electically heated floors must be controlled by a thermostat connected to a floor temperature probe. By directly measuring the floor temperature, the thermostat ensures that the floor tempertaure can not rise beyond the specified limit.

Important Installation Notes

Insulation must always be installed below the heating mat to reduce heat losses into the sub-floor. This improves performance and reduces running costs.

Electric heating systems should be installed, tested and commissioned strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and by a qualified installer. It is advised to test the cable before, during and after installation. The use of an RCD breaker is recommended.
